Wooden Alligator (a reconstruction)

Materials: Original piece was a combination stepladder, ironing board, chair. Nails, Wood Glue, Wood Tools, Table Saw, Sander Belt.  Goal: to create art that did not resemble the original chair and to use almost all the original materials.

Process: Find wooden "chair" at resale shop, Diassemble, Intuitive process included:
1. Create 4 legged body,
2. Create tail piece (removable).
3. Cut ironing board in half, used front curve of ironing board as mouth (mouth is on hinges so it can open and close), cut teeth.
4. Cut teeth and eyes.
